ARLINGTON, TX—Professor Kim LaFontaine, Chair and Producer of the University of Texas at Arlington’s Department of Theatre Arts, announces the 2017-2018 Maverick Theatre Company Season.

Maverick Theatre Company is excited to offer an exceptional mix of theatre, dance, comedy improvisation, musical theatre and opera events for the 2017-2018 season! The season leads with THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE by William Finn, Rachel Sheinkin, Rebecca Feldman and Jay Reiss. Shakespeare’s delightful comedy, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM follows! The spring brings two of Puccini’s best loved one-act operas, SUOR ANGELICA & GIANNI SCHICCHI, co-produced with the Department of Music. MavPlays 2018 features the world premiere of Natalie Gaupp’s 100 BRAINS. And, don’t miss the stunning choreography of MAVERICK DANCE COMPANY, the raucous on-the-spot comedy performances of FLIGHT 12 COMEDY IMPROV TROUPE, and the one-act series of innovative plays MAVLAB.
